Women in Lighting is an inspirational digital platform that profiles women working in the field of lighting and lighting design. It aims to promote their passion and achievements, narrate their career path and goals, celebrate their work and therefore help elevate their profile. With Ambassadors as point of contacts in 50+ countries to help encourage, support and inspire the next generation.

The International Dark-Sky Association (IDA) is the recognized authority on light pollution and is the leading organization combating light pollution worldwide.

By providing leadership, tools, and resources for individuals, policymakers, and industry, we will reduce light pollution and promote responsible outdoor lighting that is beautiful, healthy, and functional. We will bring the issue of light pollution to diverse communities worldwide with the goal of creating access to information about the destructive impact of over-lighting and the benefits of responsible lighting. 

The Silhouette Awards programme is focused on identifying the rising stars of the lighting industry and subsequently support these young professionals as they progress their careers.

An international panel of mentors, all highly respected individuals within the lighting industry, select the winning mentees as well as formally mentor one of them for six months. The programme offers support throughout their mentorship journey.

As a team we are hugely passionate about the opportunities mentorship can provide, and we believe every young professional deserves a mentor and the opportunity to better themselves.
